MOUNT HOREB - DeAnne Louise Horn, age 73, died at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, on Monday, Nov. 17, 2014.
DeAnne was born on Nov. 12, 1941, to Robert and Lena (Herrli) Stuessy of New Glarus. She graduated from New Glarus High School in 1959 and went on to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where she met her future husband, Richard Horn. The two were married in June of 1963. She and Richard raised three children in Mount Horeb, and were involved in many local organizations and groups, including the "Song of Norway" theater production. DeAnne worked for several years at Kalscheur's Fine Foods in Mount Horeb.
She loved to read, and carried a book with her wherever she went - usually a murder mystery. She loved visits with friends and family, and always enjoyed good conversation. She enjoyed puttering in her small garden, and feeding the birds that would visit her patio. Most of all, she loved Lulu, her cat and constant companion in the last years of her life.
She is survived by her daughters, Caroline and Kristii of Madison; her son, Matthew (Christine) Horn of Salt Lake City, Utah; two grandchildren, Satchel and Harper of Salt Lake City; and her sister, Marlene Buechel of Verona.
DeAnne was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 21, 2014.
