Louisa F. Klassy
MONTICELLO — Mrs. Louisa F. Klassy, 98, former Monticello resident, died Monday, Jan. 15, 1990, at the New Glarus Home where she was a resident since Nov. 19, 1980.
She was born Jan. 19, 1891, in Washington Township, Green County, the daughter of Michael and Mary (Isely) Bidlingmaier. She attended the Purcell Rural School. Her marriage to William E. Klassy took place Feb.4, 1909, in the home of her parents. The couple farmed in Washington Township until moving to Monticello in 1935. She was a member of Zwingli United Church of Christ and its Friendship Circle.
Surviving are a son, Roger E., New Glarus; a daughter, Mrs. Werner(Lillian) Hefty, Monticello; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Loveland, Monticello; five grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband in 1967; a son, Leon, in 1981; a grandson, William Hefty, 1961; five brothers, George and Albert in 1965, William, 1967; Edward, 1968, and Karl in 1899, and three sisters, Verena Bleiler, 1950; Anna M. Elmer, 1985, and Ida in infancy.
Funeral services are 1:30 pm. Saturday at Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello. The Rev. Erwin H. Pegel will officiate. Interment is in Highland Cemetery, Monticello.
Friends may call after 6 pm. Friday at Zwingli Church Memorial Lounge and after 11 am. Saturday in the church sanctuary until the time of services.
Voegeli Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
