CHARLINE A. WICHSER
Charline A. Wichser, age 93, Monticello, died Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at the New Glarus Home where she had resided since 1999.
Charlir, was born February 14, 1911 in Humbird, the daughter of Henry A. and Mary "Etta" (Williams) Babler. She graduated from Belleville High School, Green County Normal School, and earned a degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater.
Charline married Ivan Wichser. He preceded her in death in March of 1994.
Mrs. Wichser taught at several rural schools and also taught at Belleville Junior High School for many years until her retirement in 1972.
She was a member of Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello, Retired Teacher’s Association, and a former member of the Women’s Relief Corp.
Survivors include four children, Audrey Luethy of Wilton, Iowa, Richard (Mary) Wichser of Brodhead, Terry (Karen) Wichser, Monticello, and Carlton (Katie) Wichser, Evansville; nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a son-in-law, Walter Luethy, in 1996.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 25, 2004, at Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello. Pastor John W. Eyster, Sabbatical Interim Pastor of Zwingli Church will officiate. Burial followed in Highland Cemetery, Monticello.
Friends called at the Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home Monticello, on Friday from 5:00 pm. until 7:00 pm. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Charline’s name for Monroe Clinic Hospice and Zwingli United Church of Christ.
Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home, Monticello, assisted the family.
