  He spent his early years in Highland and after completing high school attended the University of IL where he graduated with a law degree although he never practiced this profession. He moved to Greenville IL in 1907 as the manager of the Greenville plant of the Pet Milk Co. In 1927 he and his wife moved to Madison WI were he became district manager of District No 7 of the Pet Milk Co. with headquarters in Madison. At the time of his death he was the district manager of the Pet Milk Co., and a member of its board of directors. His first entombment was in Montrose Mausoleum in Greenville IL on 9 Aug 1947, he was later moved and entombed in Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison WI on 21 Sept 1953.
