Rattin von Hemberg SG

Hello. I am hoping someone can help me find information about a Swiss citizen who reportedly disappeared while searching for Col. Percy Fawcett in Brazil in 1932. I am trying to find out any more information about Stefan Rattin and if he ever returned to Switzerland after 1932. Here is the information I have so far:
Stefan Rattin (also known as Stepan Rattin, Stephan Rattin, Stephen Rattin, Ratti)
According to a document I found in Ancestry’s Swiss Overseas Emigration database:
Name: Stefan Rattin
Gender: männlich (Male)
Birth Year: 1889
Place of Origin: Hemberg, St. Gallen, Schweiz (Switzerland)
Last Residence: Arbon, Thurgau, Schweiz (Switzerland)
Departure Date: Nov 1911
Port of Departure: Marseille
Port of Arrival: Buenos Ayres
Source: Auswanderungsamt und
Auswanderungsbüro. Uberseeische
Auswanderungen aus der Schweiz,
1910-1953. Schweizerisches
Bundesarchiv. E 2175 - 2, Band 4.
Thanks to information from Mr. Wolf Seelentag, I have requested a birth certificate from the St. Gallen archive and I know that a search of the Register of Swiss Surnames shows a Rattin family from Austria became citizens of Hemberg in 1908.
Thank you for any help with this research.
