there are many versions and explanations as to the origins of my name but this is the only one that makes sense:
"De Bilde" est issu du vieux Francais "Bille" = souche d'arbre, le "L" mouille en Francais etant devenu "ID" en vieux Flamond.
where can I find more information as to the origins (meaning) of names... I've traced my ancestors to the regions of Zeeland in the Netherlands and Oost-Vlaanderen in Belgium.
