Knaus von Molinis GR

Hello,

My name is Olga Kroeders and over ten years I research de Knuist/Cnaus/Knaus family in the Netherlands. Knuist was the last name of my grandmother.

My GGGGG father Ullrich Cnaus died in 1811 in Hellevoetsluis, the Netherlands. According to the marriage certificate of one of his sons, Ullrich was from Breil/Brigels in Graubunden and he was a sailor. But that is all the information that I have.

According to http://www.gr.ch/IT/istituzioni/amminis ... .11.09.pdf there is a Badrutt-genealogy where the last name Knaus is also mentioned. I wonder if anybody can take a look at it for me. Also I am looking for information about the birth of Ullrich and who his parents were.

Unfortunately I cannot really help you - just let you know that according to Familiennamenbuch Molinis is the only pre-1800 citizenship for Knaus in Graubünden.

This does not mean he could not have been born in Breil/Brigels - but might be a hint where to look for his ancestors.
