Koch von Alt St.Johann SG

[Wolf]

Koch have been citizens in (todays) canton St.Gallen since before 1800 in Alt St.Johann, Niederhelfenschwil, Waldkirch and Wildhaus. A family of Alt St.Johann lived for a short while in Wartau SG.

Excerpt from the Wartau and Azmoos Genealogies, compiled by Jakob Kuratli (copies at Kantonsbibliothek Vadiana, St.Gallen, signature VS q 251/4-8 and 11-12).

The numbers "A/B" are taken from Kuratli and represent
A = number of husband (Wartau genealogies, unless Azmoos indicated by Az)
B = number of husband's parents

This is an outline of my Koch Ancestry who immigrated to the United States of American in 1851.
Leonard (A) and Magdalena (Muller) Koch, from St. Gallen Canton, and five children (B, C, D, E, F) sailed from LeHavre aboard the Lexington and landed in New Orleans, Louisiana USA on 4-7-1851. They traveled up the Mississippi River and settled in Davenport, Iowa. Their descendants are listed below. More detailed information is available for some of these people. I am interested in meeting Koch descendants who live in Switzerland. Please contact me with your questions or comments in this forum or by PM/PN.
