Re: Translation please
Hallo ginahaefeli,
the report deals with matters of the 1846 up-rise. A Danish commander that had come to the Fehman Island to demand the population to be faithful and loyal Danish citizens was taken prisoner, one of his companians, Anton Snydstrup, was shot, and this led to the Idsted Battle, in which the Schleswig-Holstein army was defeated. The Danish made legal investigations about the killing of Anton Syndrstrup, and some people were sentenced to go to jail. Von Leesen, the Schleswig Baron that had arrested the Danish commander, had to pay a large amount to Syndstrup's family, sold in 1855 his estate at the Fehman Island and moved to Posen (today East Germany). When Schleswig was going from the Danish to Prussia in 1867, von Leesen erected at his own expense a self designed monument at the Fehman site where the shooting had taken place, threw a dinner party for his former companions and rewarded them with medals and cash. Six months later, a huge high-tide swept away the monument. It was re-discovered later and set up again at a location less endangered by tides, a place called Burgstaaken.
A full translation seems too much effort. If you state which of the involved individuals is of interest for you, I could check for details given for him.

Thank you very much for your help. I understand more about what happened that day. It confirms that my ancestor was killed. I did not know about the autopsy and legal proceedings that took place later.
If you ever need some research in US or Canada, I will be happy to help.

Re: Translation please
Oh I forgot. You asked in whom I was interested. My ancestor was the Danish sailor, Anton Snydstrup, who was shot when his officer was taken prisoner on Fehmarn.
