Vienna birth registration 1924

[MowseHowse]

I need to find a birth registration in Vienna. February 1924.
Is there an on-line index anywhere please?

Hi

As far as I know civil registry offices didn't exist in Austria in 1924, so you have to search for parish records.
The parish records for Vienna are online on matricula, jewish records for Vienna are online on familysearch.
But maybe the records for 1924 are not available online.

Wiener Meldezettel are also online on familysearch, but not all cards are already indexed, so you have to look at the catalogue.

Sometimes some collections of the Wienbibliothek are also helpful, especially the City directories (Lehmann address books).

ANNO, the website of the Austrian National Library, has several newspapers of Vienna and Austria online.
