recherche famille Fischer sur Lucerne

Beitrag von ny_lexington » Fr 28. Dez 2007, 09:35

:( Bonjour,

Hello,
I would be looking for any information on my great great grand parents (anything from a marriage act to birth acts). Their names are:
- Joseph Fischer,
- Elisabeth Arnold.
They probably lived in Luzern, as they gave birth there to my great grandmother Elisabeth Fischer on January 28th, 1855.
Unfortunately, I have no other information on the Fischer family, as Elisabeth Fischer then moved to Paris, France and had no further contact with her parents. I am therefore unable to give any time brackets or other local precisions (like the church they attended).
A great thank you for anyone who could help me with this search.

The problem with 'Luzern' as location is that it could be either, the canton of Luzern, or the city (the capital).

The first Fischer line gaining citizenship of the city(!) of Luzern did so in 1857 - after the birth of your ancestor. This could still be your line - but we don't know.

Fischer held citizenship in canton Luzern since before 1800 in Gelfingen, Geuensee, Grosswangen, Knutwil, Kottwil, Menznau, Nebikon, Ruswil, Schötz, Schüpfheim, Triengen, Uffikon, Willisau Land, Winikon, Wolhusen - plus, ofcourse, dozens of communities in other cantons - see Vorkommen Fischer in der Schweiz. So where should you start?

Luzern State Archives hold extensive documentation on emigrants - might be worth an enquiry whether they can help you find a starting point.

If your ancestor was actually born (and baptized) in the city of Luzern, and as you know the exact date of birth, it should be easy to find the baptismal entry: the Luzern church records have been filmed by LDS. This entry will often (with non-citizens) also give the parents' place of citizenship.

On my page http://www.daniel-stieger.ch/Genealogy/index.htm you will find more than 3000 Fischer from the canton Lucerne (most of them originally came from the Soppensee near Geiss / Buttisholz). On http://www.daniel-stieger.ch you have a search engine. Unfortunately, your great grandmother Elisabeth Fischer is not in my database.

With that you can - with a large probability - exclude Sursee, Oberkirch, Nottwil, Geiss / Buttisholz and Grosswangen. I made very little research on Triengen (where many Fischer resided). I made absolutely no research on the town Lucerne.
