Ahnenfolge Eugster von Speicher AR

The following posting has been separated as it is mainly dealing with Gross in canton St.Gallen (only aspects relating to Eugster are copied here):

TedGrpss hat geschrieben:My name is Ted Gross and I am looking for some information of my father August Karl Gross Jr. He, his mother and his two sisters, Bertha and Ida, left Speicher in 1919 to come to the United States. His father, August Sr., came to the United States in 1916.

Here is a copy of Grandmother Bertha's obituary posted February 19, 1937:
[...] She is survived by [...] her father, Karl Eugster of Switzerland; two brothers, Emil Eugster of Cleveland, O., and Jacob Eugster of Hollywood.

Do you have any information about these Eugster's?

The problem with Eugster is, that they held citizenship in most Appenzell communities since before 1800, and also in cantons Grisons and St.Gallen. As the family left for the USA from Speicher, this would be the first place to look, ofcourse. Bertha Eugster was born in about 1888. The church records available online stop in 1875 - but as her birth was more than 120 years ago, the Civil Registry Office responsible for Speicher should give you this information: I recommend you ask them - and report here their response.
