Claret von Troistorrents VS

Dear Moderator,
I am looking for any information on Elias CLARET married to Agustine BLANCHE.
They resided in TroisTorrents' Municipality, Monthey District, VALAIS Kanton.
They have several children, but the mother (Augustine Blanche) died during the delivery of their last daughter: Elvira Adela CLARET, born in 1909.
After that tragedy, Elias Claret decided to give all their (eight ?) children to different relatives to raise them.
Would you please find out any information about this family and their children?
It would be very appreciated by Adriana Corina Sadonio (58 years old), who resides in Argentina and is a great-granddaughter of Elias and Agustina Blanche, and Elvira Adela Claret's granddaughter.
I thank you very much,
Ana Ubelarte

Claret have been citizens of Troistorrents since before 1800.
Walliser Vereinigung Für Familienforschung are running a database with their members' research results - unfortunately accessible online only for their members. You may want to contact them by mail and ask whether they have any info on this family.

Dear Mr. Wolf,
Thank you for the response.
You mentioned that information is only shared online with these family members.
I will attempt to receive a response through mail. I noticed that their site is in German and French.
I hope they will also communicate in English.
Thank you again
Ana U.

No - are shared with members of the
society.

Dear Wolf,
Oh, I understand now.
Is it another way to get information on that family?
I was checking their site, and the cost of each document is very high (especially for an Argentinian relative.
Thank you!
Ana

Where did you find a price for documents? If I understand their service correctly, it is a Gedcom database (like many others) which only society members (with password) can check (online). If they are willing to answer a question from the databse, this would consist a of some data (e.g. in a mail) - no "document". I don't see that documents could be charged for ... they could just refuse to give out any information and tell you to join the society (which would incur a membership fee, of course).

Dear Wolf,
Searching on the website you offered me, I found a list of documents (e.g.: Birth, Family, Death, Marriage, etc.) that could be available if the event took place in the Valais Kanton. There is a price for each: e.g.: 30,00 CH. But only if you are a member.
Best regards,
Ana

Hello Ana,
As Wolf already recommended, you should first ask the Aveg whether they have any data on this family and for the period
after 1900.
In the canton of Valais, civil registration data with dates of birth from 1900 onwards are still under protection. However, as a direct descendant, Adriana Corina Sadonio has the right to request an extract from the family register (
Acte de famille), which was created in Valais from 1929 with retroactive effect. However, these extracts are also subject to a fee, depending on the number of persons registered. If the information from the Aveg is negative, it is best to contact the competent
civil registry office in Monthey.
Unlike in most other cantons, the State Archives in Valais do not hold copies of the civil registers.
Peter

Are you sure this is offered by AVEG? Could you, please, give the exact link: my suspicion is that you followed a link to the Civil Registry Office - where (as Peter has mentioned) you have to pay fees for any document (I don't think you'd get an official birth certificate in Argentine for free either).
BTW - this would not have anyting to do with a mebership of AVEG - you'd have fulfill the criteria of the Swiss Civil Registry Ordinance (see Peter's comment).

Dear Wolf,
Yes, you are right! because when I tried to find the exact pages showing the documents that could be available in that association, I couldn't find them. Then, I must have followed a link to the Civil Registry Office. My apologies for that mistake.
The cost of each of those documents varies from 30 to 40 CH, which would be very expensive for an Argentinian resident, as 1 CH = 1,092.91 ARS. Of course, Argentina also has a cost for genealogical documents, but comparatively, it is significantly less.
My apologies again for the mistake.
Best regards,
Ana

Correct - there is nothing you can access (not being a member): just send them a mail and ask - as also Peter has suggested.
Good luck - Wolf
