Schilling - Rammersweier

Hello everyone. The assistance found here in the past has been second to none. I find myself returning with more questions.

I'm attempting to find the family of Joseph Schilling (Schilli) born 18 Feb 1809 in Rammersweier. He married Anna Maria Jaeger, born 29 Jul 1818 in Bohlsbach. They had 3 children while in Baden; Marianne (Mary, Mary Anne), Joseph and August. This family immigrated to America in 1842/1843 on board the ship MOZART with a number of other settlers from the Ortenaukreis. The ship traveled the Le Harve, France - New Orleans, Louisiana route.

This family also somehow ties into the Schili family from Zunsweier (Paul - 1863, Gustavina - 1840, Ludwig -1806 and Johann - 1781) which is under investigation at this time.

Thank you all in advance.

Good afternoon,
How did you come to marry in Bohlsbach in 1818? There is no such name before and after 1818?
Greetings
Françoise

Hallo Jschilli,

As always, thank you Amos. I was hoping you'd see this and reply. I'm working on clearing up the trees and identifying where 2 different family lines merge in Baden.

Francois - thank you for your inquiry. A line of the family who in America use the surname Schilli and Schilly amongst others. The immigrant ancestors of this line are Joseph Schilling born 18 Feb 1809 in Rammersweier, married Anna Maria Jaeger of Bohlsbach (born in Bohlsbach in 1810), immigrated to America via Le Harve France in late 1842 and arrived at New Orleans in late Jan 1843 on board the ship Mozart. I believe this family immigrated with 2 sons and a daughter, from memory this would be Joseph, August and Mary Anna.

There is some confusion in this line and it seems all of the researchers or interested people have passed on.

Now that the connection has been made, I'm trying to piece together my own line reportedly from Zunsweier and the family of Schillings from Rammersweier.

Thanks - any further input is always welcome.

Guten Tag,
Rammersweiler fängt erst im Jahr 1810 an, in der Baden Wüttemberg Archiv an. Bei Bohlsbach bis 1818 ein einziger Jaeger, Joseph. Wie gut sind Ihre Informationen?
Gruss
Françoise

Hello everyone and thank you very much for your help and replies. I am researching a family that (American records) show the following which I am trying to validate and confirm:

- Joseph Schilling/Schilly born on 18 Feb 1809 in Rammersweier. baptized 20 Feb at Weingarten Church. Married Anna Maria Jaeger of Bohlsbach. She was born in 1810 in Bohlsbach and they married on 14 Sep 1835 at Weingarten Church. In Baden they had children Mary Anna (1836), August (1838) and Joseph (1837) prior to immigrating to America.

The boarded the ship MOZART in Le harve, France on 30 (?) Dec 1842 and arrived in New Orleans, Louisiana on 30 (?) Jan 1843. The family settled in Sainte Genevieve County, Missouri in paces such as New Offenburg and Zell or what was called the "German Settlement".

I share DNA with this branch of the family in Missouri and am trying to trace this line of the family in Baden. My own line comes from Zunsweier and here, in America, the Missouri line has several references to roots in Rammerswier.

I'm just hoping to either confirm or support this or, if as it is looking, me may possibly have bad information here in the States in which case much much more research is needed anew.

Thank you!
