Hello, my name is Marcos Martinez Renaud, I am Argentine and I am looking for my Swiss roots. The information I have is that my great-grandfather Ernest Auguste Renaud was born in Rolle (Canton of Vaud) in 1886, I have his birth certificate. His father was Marc Charles Henri Renaud born in Mont Le Grand as well as his mother who was named Julie Nee Chardon.

It is not clear to me what exactly you are looking for, since you already have the birth certificate. Important in Switzerland is always the local citizenship (burghership, commune bourgeoise, bourgeosie) and not only the place of birth. Possibly this is Mont-sur-Rolle for this family. Is this municipality (former name was Mont le Grand) mentioned on the birth certificate? If so, what exactly is the French text in front of it?

The baptismal and birth registers have been digitized in this canton, but are only accessible in the State Archives themselves. However, they have a dossier on the Renauld family of Mont-sur-Rolle. Why don't you ask the State Archives what's in it?

Alternatively you could post a copy of the birth certificate here in the forum: someone with relevant experience may find important info, which otherwise might be missed.

Merci griffy, also wie vermutet beide Ehegatten mit Bürgerrecht der Gemeinde Mont le Grand, die heute Mont-sur-Rolle heisst. Vielleicht hat das Marcos unterdessen auch herausgefunden, sich aber nicht mehr gemeldet.
