Hello Board,
There is a DNA Project for the surname Boschung and other variations. It is a Y-DNA test and we are looking for male participants, who can trace their paternal line back to the 1700's in Switzerland, or in Germany.
We are hoping to determine the various family lines and DNA samples are needed for these surnames and variants: Boschung, Buschon, Buschong, Buschey, Buschi, Bushe, from Boltigen and other areas in Switzerland as well as Germany.
So far, two lines have been thoroughly DNA tested. The first is for the Boschung family, that immigrated to America, three separate times: before 1719, 1731, and 1732, and they have been proven to be related.
The second line tested was for the Bushey surname that was originally Buschi before their 1754 immigration to America. It appears to be connected through genealogy, to Buschon and Buschi of Trippstadt, Germany, their DNA however shows that they are related to the Lingg family of Lucerne, Switzerland. In Tripstadt, Germany, the Buschi lived very close to the Linn family, and the Linn family married into the Buschi family. It is felt that Linn could be a variant of Lingg, so those with the surname of Linn, who's ancestors lived close to Trippstadt are needed too.
We recommend a 37 marker test, and the project is at Family Tree DNA (FTDNA).
To participate go to FTDNA https://www.familytreedna.com/search/?n ... ut?pid=215 or contact me on this board.
If you have already tested with another company, those results can also be used- contact me.
Thank you,
Rick Bushong
