Hallo im Forum,

am 23.03.1629 heiratet in Oberwil i. S. Hans BOSCHUNG (+ 06.11.1669 Oberwil)

Josef Arnold Strässle, (1906-1947) heiratete in 1. Ehe die Rosa Boschung, von der ich leider bisher keine weiteren Angaben habe.

Daraus ging ein Sohn hervor: Alois Strässle

BÜRGERORTE DER BOSCHUNG
(a) altverbürgert (vor 1800):

Boltigen/BE, Bösigen/FR, Jaun/FR, Paroman/FR, St. Antoni/FR, St. Ursen/FR, Wünnewil/FR und Broc/FR - Quelle: HLS

Ich habe ein Hochzeitsfoto, aber leider keine weiteren Angaben. Die Lebensdaten von Josef Arnold Strässle, Bruder meiner Grossmutter vaterseits sind vorhanden, mehr leider nicht.

Comment by moderator: this contribution was originally placed in Stocker in Oberwil, but is mainly concerned with Boschung of Boltigen. I have therefore moved it to here. Only single families (defined by name and place of citizenship) should be discussed in single threads - if related (married) threads can be linked to each other.

Hello Mr. Meyer,

Thank you for your information on the early Boschung, in Bern.

I believe there's a good possibility that the Boschung who emigrated through the Palatinate and eventually to America are related to this line. Can you confirm these dates and locations?
Hans Boschung was born on Jun. 14, 1635 in Oberwil, Bern, Switzerland and died on Feb. 24, 1694 in Oberwil, Bern, Switzerland. He married Anna Stocker [Boschung] Before 1661. Anna was born About 1641 and for a time lived in Oberwil, Bern, Switzerland and died on May 13, 1694 in Oberwil, Bern, Switzerland.
:?: Did you confirm Anna Stocker was from Gstaad?

This is the line, as I understand it...
Hans Boschung and Anna Stocker/ Hans Boschung and Anna Anneler/ Michel Studer and Dichtli Jaggi
:?: Please, for my records, do you have sources for this?

Any help would be appreciated. :D

Thank you,
R. Bushong

Hello Board,

For those interested in the Boschung surname, I have published an article connecting the Colonial American Boschung-Bushong immigrant family with the Boschung in Boltigen.

In English, it can be seen here... http://www.belizebreeze.com/bushongunit ... chung.html

I would be very interested to hear any additions, corrections or comments you may have.

Respectfully,
Rick Bushong

Hallo Mr.Bushong,
here are the additions to the emigrated family of Nicolaus Buschon:

Buschon/Boschung/Buscheng Joh.Nicolaus * ab.1691, S.o.Johannes B. (born in Oberwil, Switzerland, immigrated in 1699 to Stelzenberg/Palatinate)
oo 15.Oct.1715 Schmalenberg/Palat.
SCHAFFNER Anna Magdalena * 27.Jan.1698 Schmalenberg, D.o.Samuel S.(born in Gränichen, Switzerland, immigrated ab.1695 to Schmalenberg) and Anna Margaretha KLEIN from Schmalenberg.
Children:
1. Maria Barbara *15.Nov.1715 Schmalenberg , died
2. Joh.Andreas *30.Jan.1717 Schm., konf.1731 Schm.
3. Maria Barbara *04.02.1719 Schm.
4. Joh.Henrich *03.Jan.1722 Schm.
5. Eva Elisabetha *09.Mar.1724 (Schm?)
6. Joh.Nicolaus *26.04.1727 Schm.
Emigration of this family to America was unknown in Palatinate until now.
Your maps show "Waldfischbach" as origin or town, your ancestors lived in. This is wrong and right: Schmalenberg is an own village, but belonged to the parish of Waldfischbach (I myself am born in Schmalenberg). Stelzenberg is only 10 kilometers distance to Schmalenberg.
Best wishes

Hello Mr. Meyer,

This is excellent news! The descendants of the Colonial American immigrants, Johann Nicholas Boschung-Bushong and his brother, Hans John Boschung-Bushong, have been searching for over a hundred years for their European family. Until now it could only be theorized.

And what could be better than to find a historian from the same town, Schmalenberg

:?: So, you confirm the two articles? Except for Waldfichbach as a town of origin?

Thanks again,
Rick
