I am currently researching my ancestors who attended the evangelisch-reformierten Kirchgemeinde Mönchaltorf from 1640's till at least 1860's. I obtained these via LDS records and are included below. I am interested in researching decendents that may still be living in Switzerland and further information about the family. Any suggestions and apologies for writing in English.

Jacob Frei (Hanß Jacob Frey)
Hanß Jacob Frey, shoemaker by profession, was baptized 8 June 1788 in the Reformed Church of Mönchaltorf, Canton Zürich, Switzerland; no birth date is given. He was the son of H[an]s Heinrich Frey (probably known as Heinrich) from Mönchaltorf and A[nna] Catharina Studer, (probably called Catharina), originally from St. Gallen (LDS film #0996474, Reformed Church Records Mönchaltorf, Canton Zürich, Baptisms 1788, p, 265). According to a “Familienregister” kept by a pastor of the congregation, Hanß Jacob Frey was confirmed in Mönchaltorf Easter 1807 (LDS film #2060953, item 2, Familienregister Mönchaltorf, Canton Zürich, Vol. I, p. 142.)

Marriage: The Reformed Church record in Mönchaltorf show that 8 November 1814 in [blank in Mönchaltorf record; may be Stäfa] H[an]s Jacob Frey “from here, [Reslis]” (possibly “Gut Rißli,” a farm named Rißli in Mönchaltorf parish, shown in earlier records as a location where earlier generations of the family lived) m. A[nna] Magdalena Strickler from Brännishausen, parish of [Stäfa], also in Canton Zürich. Banns were posted 30 October in Mönchaltorf (LDS film # 0996474, Reformed Church Records Mönchaltorf, Canton Zürich, Marriages 1814, p. 397). The baptism record in Egg for son Gottlieb shows that Anna Magdalena Strickler was definitely from Stäfa parish (LDS film # 0996835, Item 2: Reformed Church Records, Egg, Canton Zürich, Switzerland, Baptisms,1825, p. 249). She died in Hagenau, Alsace (France), 11 October 1843, age 5[1]? (may be 54) years. Her death is recorded in the church records of Mönchaltorf (LDS film # 0996474, Reformed Church Records Mönchaltorf, Canton Zürich, Deaths 1843, p. 160).

Familienregister shows Catharina Studer bapt. 14 September 17[60]; daughter of Daniel Studer, miller (LDS film #2060953, item 2, Familienregister Mönchaltorf, Canton Zürich, Vol. I, p. 142). She died 3 December 1814 (entry in Familienregister; death entry in Mönchaltorf church records).

Note in Familienregister:
Father Hans Heinrich Frey was sentenced to one year of “Zuchthausarbeit” (prison work house) in 1805. Text is illegible on microfilm--it looks as if the reason for imprisonment was testimony of a witness against him. Again, there is a note of his being sentenced to “Zuchthausarbeit” in July 1815 because of “unerlaubter Umgang” with someone or something, forbidden fraternization with certain people or forbidden use of certain materials. (LDS film #2060953, item 2, Familienregister Mönchaltorf, Canton Zürich, Vol. I, p. 142). The Chorgerichtsmanual (court minutes) for these years in the Staatsarchiv in Zürich may contain more details about this.
