Palla von Cevio TI

Post by lindadavis1916 » Fri 16. Oct 2015, 19:52

I am looking for information on the familes of Giuseppe Palla and his wife, Maria Giacomina Respini of Cevio. Their son, Giuseppe Domenico Palla was born in 1830. I do not know their birth, marriage or death dates or any of their other children. I would like to know if there is a source available for families of Cevio since I also have Mattei familes on my direct line.

Hi Linda, since nothing is online in this canton, I suggest you to order the two films from FamilySearch covering Cevio; obviously, there are also family records on those films (stato d'anime, grouping people by family) and for the period you are looking for.

Thank you for checking for me. I have tried to read the films before but I do not know Latin which seems to be the language of choice and different priests write it different ways. Do you know of formula I could use to help me decipher these old records? I appreciate all help.

The stati d'anime do not require latin knowledges, you simply have to find the group of the family you are looking for. However, since the families very often selected the same christian names you might be obliged to go back to the register of baptism, which are in latin in most catholic areas at that time. But you usually find supporters in the LDS centers where you have to order the films to.

One more question. Where do I find the state d'anime? Are they on the films from the Family History Center or are they kept else where?

Thank you for you patience with me.

Perfect. I hope I can find my many family connections. My grandmother is from Cevio so lots of family there. Thank you for your assistance.
