Rodoni von Biasca TI

Post by RODONIDH » Sun 26. May 2013, 18:06

I am currently researching my husband's family. I have completed his family in the United States and now want find the family in Biasca. My information is limited.
His great great grandfather's name, according to the ship's passenger list, was Alessandro Rodoni. He immigrated to the United States in 1858. The ship's records had the following information
Departed from: HAVRE, France
Ship's name: PROGRESS
RODONI ALLESANDRO 19 M 18 May 1858
RODONI AQUILINO 26 M 18 May 1858
RODONI ASQUILO 30 M 18 May 1858
RODONI JULIO 44 M 18 May 1858
RODONI PIETRO 30 M 18 May 1858
RODONI REFENDLE 38 M 18 May 1858
Given this, what should my next be in finding Alessandro's parents and siblings in Biasca?
Thank you in advance for your assistance,
Hilary RODONI

Hi Hilary,

Research in this canton is not easy because you rarely find volunteers and no documents are online. But the church records of the Catholic church of Biasca are fortunately available on microfilms in an LDS center in your neighborhood. In addition to the traditional church records, you will also find some family registers (Stato d'anime) for the 2nd half of the 18th century on those films.

Thank you Peter! I'll make my way to the LDS center and see what I can find there.
Warm regards, Hilary
