Unfortunately we cannot give you any information concerning this family, as all the documents (p.e. birth certificate, marriage etc.) from the 1st January 1876 and up to now are not accessible (law of protection of personal data in Switzerland which is 120 years for birth and marriage and 100 years for death, from the 1st January 1876). What is the source of your information? Vaud is not a community (where in or around would be used), but a canton (= state).

Robert Schuppli may certainly have lived in canton Vaud - but Schuppli is not a name from the French speaking part of Switzerland (nor is Lobsinger). Schuppli have held citizenship prior to 1800 on in canton Thurgau:
Frauenfeld
Gachnang
Oberwil [today = Gachnang]
Niederwil [today = Gachnang]
Only after 1865 families with this name gained citizenships in cantons Basel-Stadt, St.Gallen, and Zürich. A line from Niederwil gained citizenship in Lausanne (canton Vaud) in 1957 - likely too late to assume a connection to your Robert Schuppli.

As CYD has remarked, Swiss privacy legislation is very strict. Are you a direct descendant of Robert Schuppli? If you are, you would have to find out first his place of citizenship (start by enquiring from the civil registry offices responsiple for Frauenfeld or Gachnang, whether he is on their register): you will have to provide proof that you are a direct descendant in order to get information on further ancestors.
Under no circumstances you will get any information on living descendants from any government office.

What next?
1. Try to give a bit more info on Robert Schuppli (if you have any) and hope that a relative reads it here on the forum.
2. Check the phone directory for Schuppli and contact people directly, possibly start with addresses in Vaud.

My mistake up above, he married Bertha Johner, it was late last night I guess. What i know is that he was born on Dec 16 1891 in Corsier, Canoton Vaud. I have been told that his father was Jean Jakob Schuppli and his Mother was Rosina Lobsiger but I cannot confirm any of this. He may have had a sister Martha she married a James Reed. Robert married Bertha Johner on Sept 13, 1919 and came to Canada about 1923. They had 2 children Albert and James, James was electricuted at age 6 and died. I know the Johner line as there are lots of people working on it.

There is a Corsier-sur-Vevey in canton Vaud. The civil registry office responsible is the one in Vevey: etatcivil-dot-vevey-at-vd-dot-ch.

More likely, however, is the Corsier in canton Genève: etat-civil-at-corsier-dot-ch. Your wording in or around Vaud might point towards this Corsier in the neighbouring canton Genève as well.

If your ancestor was born there, he will be registered with the corresponding Civil Registry Office - irrespective of his place of citizenship. Contact them and ask, if he is on their register - and what you are expected to do to get any info, especially what the place of citizenship of his father was - then go there.

Still not much luck, I do know that he had a sister Martha whom married a Jim Reed and they came to Canada about the same time. Hopefully some of this will reach a relative of mine in Switzerland and you will be able to fill in some of the puzzle pieces.
